Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Disconnect app ("the app"), operated by Bytehood Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By using the app you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Disconnect is an iOS app that helps you reduce screen time by blocking apps and enabling a buddy accountability system. You can designate a trusted person (a "buddy") who can approve or deny your requests to unblock apps.

2. Your account

You must sign in with Apple to use Disconnect. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the app
• Use the app in any way that could harm others
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent the free tier limit

4. The buddy relationship

The buddy system is a voluntary accountability feature. By designating a buddy you are choosing to give another person the ability to approve or deny your unlock requests. We are not responsible for any buddy's decision to approve or deny a request. Buddies are not employed by or affiliated with Bytehood Ltd.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Free tier: One rule, one buddy, all lock levels.

Disconnect Pro: Unlimited rules, multiple buddies, and additional features as described in the app. Available as a monthly subscription, annual subscription, or lifetime purchase.

• Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Annual subscriptions include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers — you will not be charged during the trial period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
• Payments are processed by Apple — we never handle your payment details
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy

6. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account within the app. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be available at all times, error-free, or that blocking will work in all circumstances. Screen Time blocking relies on Apple's APIs which are outside our control.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bytehood Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for Disconnect Pro in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
